1979 was a stellar year for famous births: Heath Ledger, Adam Levine, Penelope Cruz, Drew Brees, Norah Jones, Pink, John Krasinski, and Claire Danes, to name but a few. Unfortunately, Robert Allen Johnson missed the cut by a couple of weeks and entered the world in the closing days of 1978.
The second of three children, Johnson was born, raised, and lived along the Gulf Coast of Texas until he moved to the Ukraine in 1992. As an adult, he spent a total of three years in Southeast Asia teaching English as a Second Language before returning to the States in late 2008.
Johnson released Rising Sun – his first novel of Roman general Gnaeus Pompey Magnus – in March 2014 to rave reviews. Its followup, Triumphator, was released in June 2014. The third and final chapter in the series, Foreign Shores, will be released in 2016.
In November of 2015, Johnson released his third novel Wraith, the first haunting chapter in a new mystery/fantasy series entitled Empire and The Hand. Book Two will be released in the first part of 2016.
When not writing, Johnson can usually be found playing guitar, cooking, and occasionally trying to attempt both at once. He lives in Indiana with his wife and two children.
